Apakah status kes tanah di Pulau Sebatik yg telah dijadikan polemik oleh sesetengah pihak? Bolehkah korang buat posting yg dpt mencerahkan isu tersebut drp terus-terusan dipolitikkan? Tq
The whole boundary Sabah KalTim is divided into 3 sectors for the survey of international boundary...sector A where all boundary marks are inscribed with letter A...followed by running number...sector A starts from Sikapal the most eastern point of the international boundary between Malaysia and Indonesia in Borneo Island, running along 4° 20' N Lat parellel watershed, upto Gn.Maliat. The B sector starts from Gn.Maliat till Gn.Kumaka, and the C sector from Gn.Kumaka to Gn.Kalang the intersected point of boundaries of Sarawak, Sabah and INDONESIA.This Gn Kalang later renamed as Prof. SENARJO the Co project Director of Team Indonesia, who passed away during that time. All this sector points were reached and identified by me, Gn Kalang, Gn.Kumaka, Gn.Maliat and the fixation of Sikapal...the pualau Sebatic is a different story, where only we Malaysian team located all the pillars from east to west along the supposed to be latitude of 4°10' N .Though 8n maps it shows a straight line boundary but the pillars planted and surveyed in 1900 differs, not on a straight line....so the dispute at that time whether to survey on 4° 10' as per the convention or to survey in between the pillars follow the watershed....now if it has been solved, well cingratulation.
Concerning the demarcation of the B sector around sg.Salilir, around 1978 -79, it was not endorsed. As we wanted to fix the river crossing of sg.Salilir at 4° 20' N Lat. This is the outcome of the investigation survey of the pillars at sg.Sebuda and sg.Agisan along the A sector. During demarcation these river crossing old pillars erected jointly by the Dutch and the British were not found though the survey continued as per watershed fixing along the ridges at both the river bank of sg.Sebudah and sg. Agisan. Later our Sabah team try to locate these pillars and the demarcation survey was jointly amended along these rivers. This was the basic to investigate the actual crossing at sg.Salilir of 4° 20' N Lat. It took a month or so with 3 surveyors and about 12 laboures without any security to investigate where is this 4° 20'N Lat. This point was fixed from the existing B sector demarcation. It was found the boundary as per the joint convension and aggreement way south of the boarder as shown in Maps and also the 1978-79 B sector demarcation survey which we disputed. There are two river tributeries north of the fixation of 4° 20' N Lat. One is sg sesai and another is sg Sinapad...By right according to the convention and aggreement by the Dutch and the British this sg Salilir which flows from Sabah Malaysia from north and to KalTim south must be pegged at 4° 20'N Lat. So, here since the two rivers Sg Sinapad and Sg Sesai wholly belongs to Malaysia.During my time it was a dispute and later shadowed by the claim of Sipadan and Ligitan island by both Malaysia and Indonesia and we put aside to solve it later. Sometime in 1983 -84 we handed the survey task to JUPEM. When they started I was appointed as a Liasion officer for the Malaysian team, then as an advisor to our Malaysian team.
